EVENT MANAGEMENT & PRODUCTION INTERNSHIP
PURPLE DOOR PRODUCTIONS OPPORTUNITY AVAILABLE FEBRUARY –JUNE, 2010

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Management/Production Intern(s) will assist in organizing and conducting the events of Purple Door Productions and its largest client, Madison Festivals (MFI). Purple Door Productions produces Jerry’s Run for MDA as well as the events of MFI: The Madison Marathon, Kids Expo and the Taste of Madison.

This is an un-paid position that requires approx. 15-20 hours/week (40+ hrs the week of the event).

This internship will focus on the planning and production of the Madison Marathon Expo and Madison Marathon Kids Race.

Duties include communicating with vendors and participants; data entry; creating and distributing mail pieces; and working all events on the following weekends:
Madison Marathon May 28-30 (Memorial Day weekend)

Interns will also have opportunities for exposure to development/sales, government relations and marketing if desired.

REQUIREMENTS:
This person must be organized and able to work independently. Strong communication skills both verbal and written are required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to multi-task a must.
Must have own transportation.
